Anchor House of Artists

Art

The Anchor House of Artists was founded in 1997 with the mission to support and expand the creative careers of artists living with mental illness, fight the social stigma that they face, and contribute to the cultural enrichment of Western Massachusetts and beyond.

At the center of our effort is our subsidized studio. Here our artists can redefine their lives for who they truly are. In January 2017, we launched  New England Visionary Artists Museum wing to conserve the legacies of artists we have served who have passed, to educate the public on their lives lived, and to research contemporary pursuits in visionary artmaking.
